About LiveGov.ca
LiveGov.ca is an experiment in open government and real-time political discussion in Alberta. Earlier this year, during the Bill 44 debate in the Alberta Legislature, we saw a change in the way politicians had to discuss and debate an important issue to Albertans. That debate, using Twitter, was forced out from under the legislature dome and into the kitchens, offices and onto the smartphones of real Albertans.
Before then, we as citizens simply could not access the debate and more importantly, our politicians could not interact in real-time with their constituents. LiveGov.ca is hoping to change that.
Attend the Events and Debates of our Province
With our approach to event based discussions, you can now enter the Annual General Meetings, Leadership Conventions, Legislature Debates, and Council Meetings of your government, and hopefully DRAG the discussion outside their physical walls.
Using Twitter Search and Hashtags
LiveGov.ca will track and create Twitter search tools, using the popular hashtag functionality of Twitter. If you have a suggestion for a hashtag, or would like to suggest other events worth following, please contact us.
